well, good and bad on that trade,,, the bad was...

the shaft was bent on the power steering pump he had,,, so it's a no go,,,

the good was...

he traded me a optima yellowtop battery, practically new, and it's a big one!!

this is a description of the one I got!!

Part Number: D31T (8050-160)
YellowTop®; Deep Cycle Battery; UNBOXED; Grp. D31T; Cold Crank Amps 900; Crank Amps 1125; Res. Capacity 155; Ampere Hour 75; Top Terminal; L-12 13/16 in.; W-6.5 in.; H-9 3/8 in.;

now I have to get a better battery tray,,, I don't have a good way to solidly hold it down yet,,,, maybe have to go the bungiecord route,,,,,,but prolly have to get a top mount hold down and screw it down so the battery can't move!

ok, so as you can see in the pick, since i added the new tires the back really is saggin.  I measured tonight (to the lip on the fender above the tire) and the back is 3 inches lower then the front.  I don't have the money for a full blown lift kit, and like I previously stated, I have a cracked leaf (drivers rear).
I haven't been able to find any used leaf packs yet,,, so I was thinking... what about aal's (add a leafs) all the way around?  And zero rate blocks in the back as well... wouldn't that give me a lil lift pretty much on a budget without alot of major reworking and level the back out.

well I did an eye to eye measurement, and i did a measurement from the center of the eye, following the curvature of the leaf,,, from center pin out to the eye center going both ways,,,and it all came out the same in the rear to 56 inches!!

yep, seen that chart before, nothing on there at all on suburbans,,, problem is,,, in late 80's subs they used both 52 and 56 inch springs, dependent on tow packages, etc...
hence why I took the measurements I did!

So a guy in Cheyenne contacted me today with an offer to sell me a set of 3/4 ton axles from his burban,,,, i am sure it's a 10 blt front and 14 blt rear for $300,,,, is it worth it to switch out my 10 blt's,,,, try to sell em off for a little money (whatever they are worth with 3.73s in them) and gain the 14 blt rear and 8 lug axles,,,,,
