Got the intake gaskets today. Still looking for a carb. Anyone know how Rochester carbs do on the trail? Just in case I can't find a motorcraft, there are tons of rochesters cheap.

Got the intake blasted and ready to drill out. Have to get a EGR block-off plate still. Hope to have the inake and distributor on by the weekend as soon as the Blazer gets back to my house.

Not the carb that I wanted but got a quadrajunk today. Also picked up the fuel cell today. Gotta get it cleaned out and I'll get it mounted.

Ordered the carb adapter and EGR block plate the other day. Been researching 50/50 water/alcohol injection and think I will try it. I am going to drill and tap the 1" tall open adapter for 2 nozzles (90 degree spray, .60 gph, fine mist diesel burner nozzles) and will use a sure-flo 12v pump (100 psi) and a 12v solenoid to prevent siphoning (vacuum on intake). The main advantage is that the alcohol raises the effective octane of pump gas, making 88 octane more like 120 octane, thus allowing you to run an agressive timing curve and squeeze up to 50 horses out of a V-8 engine in timing alone and what the water does is effectively cool each cylinder by up to 300 degrees. Water injection has been around for a VERY long time starting with WW2 bombers that needed extra power for heavier loads cheaply. Turbo guys like it so they don't have to have as large as an intercooler and if you put the nozzle directly after the turbo the heat (1100 F) will instantly steam the water for a nice healthy dose of moisture and more power (this steam will effectively remove carbon build-up on your valves too. My application will be more for towing purposes to cool the engine or when I wanna crank the distributor for some free ponies. Systems that you buy range from 150-500. Mine more like 100. The only disadvantage is that a variable flow system is desireable depending on throttle position due to the fact that at idle the engine will cough and not burn fuel as well, also you have to run the engine for a few minutes after it is shut off to make sure that there is no more remaining water in the intake.

Carb is on, got a fuel pump. Just gotta plumb in the fuel cell and straighten out some wiring. Got it to pop a few times so the timing is pretty close. Gonna have to wait until this weekend to get a timing gun on it. Y-Pipe on the passenger side is almost flat lol, so I am going to get some full length 3" collector headers and some Purple Hornies collector packs. Thanks to Ron and Dave for the help. Getting closer!!!
